Untitled Portrait, lithograph by Ivan Bautista
This lithograph portrait is gracefully drawn by Ivan Bautista, a Oaxaca-based artist who we had the pleasure of working with during Instituto Graphico de Chicago’s Annual Grabadolandia Festival. The black information is printed from a stone, and the transparent green information is screenprinted. Made in a limited edition of 30 on archival Somerset Satin paper. Print measures 10x13.’’
From the artist:
“Since I started my studies in graphic arts, I have been interested in the figure. I use traditional techniques such as charcoal, graphite, oil, and acrylic and for my engraving work, I use xylography, intaglio printing, lithography, and PVC-grafía. My artwork exalts feminine and masculine figures. I seek to articulate and represent the inner drama of close friends, to make visible their hidden characteristics and to discover their mystical side.”
